What is Turkesterone / Ecdysterone?

Turkesterone Chemical Structure

Turkesterone is a naturally occuring compound that is extracted from different plants. Leuzea or Maral Root are the main source of the Turkesterone Extract. When concentrated Turkesterone is considered an Ecdysteroid. Ecdysteroid's are also a naturally occurring compound that is found in all forms of life including plants.

Ecdysteroid's are hormonal steroids that are found naturally in plants. While Turkesterone is in a class of compounds that are called steroids, Turkesterone is not a steroid in the way most people think of them. Most steroids act on the Androgen Receptors in the body. Turkesterone has not been found to interact with the androgen receptors.

Most people think of Testosterone when they hear the word steroids. However the term steroids is not only inclusive to bioidentical human hormones like testosterone. However many compounds fall into the steroid category that are not human hormones used for TRT and bodybuilding. Cortisone is a great example in that it is a corticosteroid, but would do nothing in terms of muscle growth.

Turkesterone is similar to testosterone in chemical make up, but as we stated earlier it does not bind to the androgen receptors. This is a very important trait of Turkesterone and other Ecdysteroid's. What this means is that Turkesterone does not suppress your natural production of testosterone and other hormones. This means that you will not run into testosterone suppression while using Turkesterone. This is a huge advantage compared to steroids and most SARM's.

When you take any suppressive compound that binds to the androgen receptors in your body a few different things happen. The first thing that happens is that your body stops producing testosterone. When this happens, many unwanted side effects can occur. Some of them being low energy, low libido, erectile dysfunction, muscle loss, etc. When you are done taking a suppressive compound you will need to do what is called a PCT or Post Cycle Therapy. Long story short, you need to take another compound or compounds that kick start your bodies natural hormone production. This is not needed with Turkesterone because it does not bind to androgen receptors and does not shut down your bodies natural production. So no suppression side effects and no need to do a PCT to recover natural testosterone production.

Another huge advantage Turkesterone and other Ecdysteroid's have over steroids or SARM's is that by not binding with androgen receptors, you avoid any of the side effects caused by this androgen binding. Hair Loss, Gynecomastia, Oily Skin and Acne can all be caused by compounds that bind to the androgen receptors. Once again, This is another huge advantage that Turkesterone has over other anabolic compounds used for muscle building and strength.
